Ted Sarandos Accepts Award for 'The Queen's Gambit'
Netflix has won its first Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Limited Series for 'The Queen's Gambit'.
Ted Sarandos, Netflix's co-CEO and chief content officer, accepted the award at the ceremony on Sunday night.
In his speech, Sarandos thanked the show's cast and crew, as well as the Television Academy for the recognition.
"This is a great honor for Netflix," Sarandos said. "We're so proud of 'The Queen's Gambit' and the incredible team that made it possible."
'The Queen's Gambit' is a seven-episode limited series about a young chess prodigy named Beth Harmon.
The show has been a critical and commercial success, and has been praised for its performances, writing, and direction.
Anya Taylor-Joy, who plays Beth Harmon, won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie.
Netflix has been nominated for a total of 120 Primetime Emmy Awards this year, more than any other network or streaming service.
