Born in Australia on October 10, 2002, Joshua James Giddey is an Australian basketball player who currently plays for the Chicago Bulls of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Known for his exceptional skills and athleticism, Giddey has quickly become a rising star in the league.

Early Career and NBA Draft

Giddey began his basketball career in Australia, playing for the Adelaide 36ers in the National Basketball League (NBL). In the 2020-21 NBL season, he averaged 10.9 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 7.3 assists per game, earning him several awards, including the NBL Rookie of the Year and All-NBL Second Team honors.

His impressive performances caught the attention of NBA scouts, and he was selected by the Oklahoma City Thunder with the 6th overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft. Giddey joined the Thunder and quickly became a key player in their starting lineup.

Career Accomplishments

In his rookie season with the Thunder, Giddey averaged 12.5 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 6.4 assists per game. He became the first player in NBA history to record at least 500 points, 500 rebounds, and 500 assists in their rookie season.

In the 2022-23 season, Giddey was traded to the Chicago Bulls, where he has continued to shine. He has averaged 16.3 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 6.0 assists per game, helping the Bulls compete in the Eastern Conference standings.

Controversy and Acquittal

In June 2022, Giddey was involved in a controversial allegation of an inappropriate relationship with a minor. However, after an investigation by the Oklahoma County District Attorney's Office, Giddey was not charged with any crime.

Despite the allegations, Giddey has maintained a strong reputation in the NBA and is considered a promising young talent with a bright future ahead of him.
