#Arianespace, the launch service provider, has just announced the positive results of the final test of the #Ariane6 main stage. The #ESA and #Airbus teams simulated a real launch of the Ariane 6, the next generation of European launchers, on the launch pad at Europe's Spaceport in Kourou, #FrenchGuiana. During this full-scale launch rehearsal, the main stage of Ariane 6 was ignited at the #ESA launch site. The objective was to verify the launcher's operational readiness under realistic conditions. This hot fire test, which was carried out on September 1, 2023, was decisive in determining the course of Ariane 6's development program. During this test, the launcher's main stage was fired for eight minutes, which is the same amount of time it will fire during an actual flight. This stage of the launcher is also used to power the aircraft during its ascent through the atmosphere. During the entire test sequence, all of the systems performed in the manner that had been anticipated, demonstrating the cohesiveness of this new launcher, which was created by the French Guiana teams and is the product of a partnership between ESA and ArianeGroup. With Ariane 6, Europe is bolstering its access to space capabilities. This will contribute to the deployment of even more daring and ambitious science exploration programs, such as the #Juice mission to Jupiter and its icy moons, which is scheduled to launch in April 2023.
